Editorial Services

I currently have openings for freelance editing of query packages and full manuscripts. If you've just finished a first draft, or you think you need a new eye cast over your manuscript, please get in touch. I specialize in Science Fiction, Fantasy and Speculative, Young Adult and Adult Crossover fiction.

My editing services are not looking to catch you out on spelling or grammatical errors. My full MS package come with an Editorial Letter, comprising of: Overall impressions; Concept feedback; Voice, Character; Pacing; and Plot.

Mini Query Package – Feedback on a query letter, synopsis and first page. A taster with a view to upgrading to a Full Query Package, or just an insight without spending a lot of money. If you choose to upgrade, I will knock off £15 from the Full Query Package, so there's nothing to lose.

Full Query Package – Feedback on a query letter, synopsis and the first 3 chapters of a manuscript up to 10,000 words. Includes line edits and close comments throughout all three documents.

Full Manuscript Package – Feedback on a query letter, synopsis and full manuscript.  Includes an editorial letter which will be minimum 5 pages long on voice, character, pacing, plot, concept feedback, and overall impressions. 

£7.50 per thousand words of manuscript (cover letter and synopsis included free of charge).

Mentoring Package - I now offer a monthly mentoring service. Send me a pre-determined number of words each month and get feedback in the form of advice and line edits, plus a reading list from me and the ability to ask unlimited questions about the industry. You can send sections of a longer project, such as a novel, or short stories, whatever you would like professional feedback on. Sign up for as little as one month and cancel anytime with one week's notice. A great way to get continuing advice on your writing and track your progress as a growing writer.

£10 per thousand words of prose, per month. Payment via monthly direct debit.

Gift Card - I now offer gift cards! Contact me in the usual way by hitting the button to the right or navigating to my contact page, and let me know if you would like to purchase a gift card, of any amount, for the beloved writer in your life. They never expire and are redeemable against all my services. Once payment is received, e-cards will be emailed to the address provided within 24 hours of purchase. To redeem a gift card, just let me know you have one when you contact me for services and I will knock the cost off the price for you.

I have an MA merit in Creative Writing from the University of Manchester. I have been editing manuscripts with WriteMentor under their summer programme for the past five years. I aim to turn around manuscripts within 30 days of payment, but may be faster at quieter times of year. You will need Microsoft Office to read line edits and comments, and manuscripts must be sent in a .doc or .docx format. Payment via paypal. At busy times I may have to waitlist your manuscript, which I will tell you before you decide to commit.
